The Society of Illustrators show was SO GOOD!...Really inspiring work. I got to see lots of illustrator friends and even got some secret illustration tips from Mark Summers haha

Society of Illustrators show tomorrow! :-)

I went to starbucks today to draw. I was drawing this guy reading the newspaper down there. He wasnt moving at all so I was happy...but then he turned in his chair when this dude came up to talk to him and I was like damnit... I looked at the guy and I realized it was one of the Baldwin brothers. So random...so of course I started to draw him instead. How often do you get to do a celebrity portrait from life? He kept looking over at me, but hey he should be used to it more then the average person.

Well...I swear I will post some new finished pieces soon. I am working a couple of self-promo pieces. All of the publishing houses want to see a series of work where one character is shown in different situations and different emotions. I am going to expand on the painting I did a while ago with the little girl feeding the peas to the dog. This sketch is a painting that I am working on now for my book portfolio. Oh and by the way, I am doing these sketches in a moleskin sketchbook with watercolor paper...it is a fabulous sketchbook.

Oh...crappy part time jobs-feels like being in high school again a little bit...like drawing in class when you are not supposed to, but you do it anyways and eventually dont even try to hide it. This is my hell...I thought I would share it with you. Oh hopefully I wont have to do this forever.
